FREEDOM... at last!

finally today we've reached the end of the devastating EoY's 10 days journey. as Mr Tan announces the dismissal fo all, many jumped for joy and screamed, IT'S OVER! so yeah, it's finally over for me too =)

let's just say that, with the amount of time i've spent studying, this EOY is really awesome. on average, i've spent about 8 hours studying for each subject, and most of that amount was done last minute the day right before the subject, so let's calculate the possible percentages i'll score for each subject, as well as the over GPA =)

EOY Papers Raw Score

Subject / Best scenario / Most probable / Worst scenario

English 85% 80% 75%

Social Studies 95-100% 85-90% 80%

Chemistry 90% 87% 85%

History 90% 85% 80%

Biology 90% 85% 80%

Physics 85% 80% 80%

Math paper 1 95% 90% 85-90%

Math paper 2 80% 70-75% 60-70%

With these subjects, combined with CA components, i've calculated the overall possible GPAs that i'll get, with the best scenario being all best scores for EoYs and betting the chances of having a moderation, that's the highest possible value i'll get, although the probability is really low. Similarly for the worst possible outcome. Chances are i'll get around 3.7, any higher than that would be a happy ending, and any lower than that is, of course, really sad.

Individual Subject GPA

Subject / Best scenario / Most probable / Worst scenario

English 4.0 3.6 3.6

Social Studies 4.0 4.0 3.6

Chemistry 4.0 4.0 4.0

History 4.0 3.6 3.6

Biology 4.0 4.0 4.0

Physics 4.0 4.0 3.6

Math paper 1 4.0 3.6 3.6

Math paper 2 3.6 3.2 2.8

Chinese 3.2 3.2 3.2

OVERALL GPA

Best scenario / Most probable / Worst scenario

3.87 3.69 3.54

With that, it concludes my last year academically in RI, as a sec 4 student. Of course many of you have heard about the merger, so even though next year is still effectively in RI, the feeling is definitely different. As i have said earlier, with the amount of effort i have put in, i am actually quite happy with these results =) I may be capable of achieving much higher grades, if i work harder and be a mugger, but then, what will be the fun of life man? besides, i cant really bring myself to study super extremely hard though. although at this stage, it seems that i have failed to achieve that 3.80 goal, it is however undeniable that many of my piorities and goals have been changed, so this 3.80 GPA does not really affect much afterall (not gonna take 2 H3), so what's left is to learn from this mistake and study much harder (and earlier) for the future major exams to come.

now, putting all the serious academic business aside, TODAY WAS PRETTY COOL. went out with classmates for some hardcore lanning and watched eagle eye. it was quite a stupid, exaggerated, ridiculous sci-fic show that didnt make much sense, but the action was all good nonetheless.

Quote from pranav, "this kind of thing only happens in the US". Counter quote from me, "NO, this kind of thing only happen in movies."

that's about all. also, although sometimes i prefer to spend my time alone doing my own things according to my preferences, giving myself quiet time to enjoy what i like to do, sometimes it's pretty awesome to just hang out with the guys too. had quite a good time today =)

Tomorrow: check out muay thai/mma stuff at equipment shop, then go bryan's house for some sparring, then go for muay thai. chuan hong and pranav joining fightg for mma =D

Wednesday: Ice skating, weixiang's bday.

Thursday: maybe play tennis with aloy. Muay Thai at night.

Friday: Outing with classmates.

Saturday: mma with pranav, outing with mom?

Sunday: Outing with mom? David's party, East coast skating? (at night)

Monday: SLACK DAY (no plans)

YAY! post-exams are awesome =)

Studying for HCL O Lvls: Starts on Monday, 27th Oct
