tioman trip!
kinda lazy to blog, but nothing to do anyway, so shall talk about what happened in tioman during the past weekend
well, basically we went there for 3 days, reached there on sat afternoon, cam back here on monday midnight (left there in the late afternoon)
on the first day, we met in school at about 6+, reached malaysia at about 8-9, reached tioman at about late afternoon. the bus journey was damn long... like 5 hours or so, then got this ferry journey, about 1.5 hour, somemore damn shaky, make me dizzy... okay, so after we reached there, we did some snorkeling at near the shore, swam quite a distance into the deeper water, i was kinda lagging behind, lousy swimming skills =P anyway, saw a lot of fishes at close distances, and some corals, beautiful... also saw a sea turtle, clown fish, see urchins etc... very cool =D then we went to watch a slideshow on what marine life we're going to see on the second day, then went to early rest at about 10+
we stayed at this resort that is very much like a chalet, just that the room is like kinda small, with a small toliet/bathroom, luckily it's air-conditioned, which was not bad after all, four of us shared a room, all from different classes, then got this gay person same room as me... oh man...
anyway, on the second day we woke up at about 7.30, had breakfast at 8, the food was not bad mostly, though for one or two meals the food was horrid... after breakfast we went to coral island( or something like that) and snorkelled there for like a couple of hours, we went there by bumpboat (something like that, dunno how to spell) it was very shaky and bumpy onboard, one guy got sea sick and puked, eeks... anyway, the boat was damn slow, took us like an hour to get there, however, at the place where the snokel, the coral reefs were amazing, we saw many different kinds of fishes, of varies sizes, angel fish, dorsal fish( dunno spelling), and many more, very colourful, other than that, there were also the jellyfishes, some with stings, some without, those without stings were very fun to poke, soft soft one, and i got stinged a few times, doesn't really hurt though, just like ant bites...
after that we went to this beach for our lunch, that's where the lunch sucks, packed fried rice, tasted horrible... we saw a few monitor lizards(about 4 or 5) crawling along the beach, quite nice... after that we went snorkeling into the shalower areas near the mangrove, saw a lot of small marine life there, shrimps and fishes, tiny little ones, and still got jellyfish, luckily all no stings one...
went back to tioman island at about evening time, again on a bump boat, this time the waves were like kinda strong, and the boat was exceptionally bumpy, and mrs lim er min puked as well... luckily i'm not prone to sea sickness... after we got back to tioman, we washed up a little, and had dinner.
after dinner we went into the darkness of the mangrove at night... the night sky was amazing, you can see countless number of starts in the sky, it was wonderful... very nice, and we walked to the mangrove where there was water, and the guides caught a few dog face water snakes for us to touch and hold, and i got to hold onto one, very cute... seriously, it was very cute, it curled around my hand, and rested there, very tiny ones, the larger ones are more scary i guess...
on the third and last day, we did our sea shore survery, we were divided into groups, and our group went into the mangrove again, with some luck, and some help from our guide, my group managed to catch dog face water snake, pretty cool eh? i got to handle the snake again, very nice... after that we brought our snake, and some other live and dead specimen back to the resort, and did some presentation of what we had found...
after the presentation, we went to this turtle egg preservation site, and we learnt more about sea turtles, as well as donated some money to help save the turtles, i donated about 6 RM, after that we packed up and waited for the ferry from about 3... now it's the fustrating part, we waited for the ferry for like 1 hour and 45 mins, coz the ferry only came at 4.45, our tour guide was damn pissed off, and talked to the ferry driver, and our bus driver after we reached malaysia... due to the fact that the ferry was late, we ended up returning late at midnight, and my parents were both sleeping, so i got a lift from my friend home, luckily... otherwise i'll have to get a cab=P
so that's about all for the tioman trip, i've got a few bruies and cuts again, from some under water rocks =P but other than that, it was a great journey and experience, enjoyed it a lot =)
